The design for this tabouret stool was taken from one in Marie Antoinette’s salon des jeux at the Chateau de Compiegne 1786.  This gilt stool has been upholstered in a French style
Green striped Scalamandre silk.

John made this window seat initially for the Spencer House project: a lovely model of the London home of the Spencer Family, now situated in the Kentucky Museum. It was painted white with the palm leaf detail hand-painted in gilt, and had green silk upholstery.  We have made this piece in different colour ways and fabrics, this one being a favourite.  The window seat has been gold plated and has the gold stripe upholstery.
