Bergere chair painted manilla with floral design hand-created by John Hodgson and then reproduced onto fabric by Susan Bembridge Designs.

French style bergere chair, original design attributed to Nicolas-Quinibert Foliot, 1760.  The chair is painted in vellum (light green colour) and the detail hand gilded.  John Hodgson hand-painted the original design for the fabric, and this has then been reproduced onto the fabric by Susan Bembridge Designs.

French style Bergere chair, original design attributed to Nicolas-Quinibert Foliot, 1760.
This beautifully styled chair has been painted vellum (pale green shade) and upholstered in blue/gold damask silk. The legs are a cabiole shape with gilt leaf design on the knee,  and the arms are fully upholstered at the sides.  The lovely gilt detail depicts flowers and scrolls in an elegant fashion.
The Bergere chair can be made and upholstered in different fabrics and colour-ways.
